Desktop Scanner

ESM Digital Solutions proudly introduces the 3Shape R-700TM Desktop Orthodontic Scanner

Your Digital Study Models are generated using proven high accuracy and high resolution scanning technology. Within seconds you will see your fully compliant Digital Study Models appear on screen. They are then ready for you to analyse using OrthoAnalyser™ Orthodontic Analysis Software or share with your colleagues and patients.

The scanning system runs on a standard Windows™-based PC (included) and full training in its use is provided by our

experienced ESM trainers.

Technology

The scanning of a dental cast is performed using an optical scanning system, in which laser planes are projected onto the object. High-resolution digital cameras acquire images of the lines created on the cast. 3Shape's unique processing software automatically processes the images and creates accurate and fully surfaced 3D models.

Accurate and complete geometry

Unique features of the R-700™ scanner guarantee superior scan results. The scanner captures the full geometry of the dental cast in one scanning session with high accuracy, including any undercuts present on the original study model. Consistently high levels of precision are guaranteed by projective geometry and a novel calibration of the laser, cameras and axes.

A combination of rotation, translation and tilting of the model during scanning ensures that the model geometry is given maximum exposure to the cameras and laser.

R-700TM Desktop Orthodontic Scanner

The R-700TM Desktop Orthodontic Scanner allows you to leave your plaster models in the Stone Age and Practice DigitalTM.

Main advantages of the R-700TM 3D

Versatility

The R-700™ can scan all types of dental models.

Open or locked file formats

The 3D files can be saved and exported in a number of standard formats, such as STL. This makes the R-700™ fully compatible with all open solutions and applications available on the market. The 3D scanned data can also be locked to prevent the virtual model from being digitally altered in compliance with Medico-Legal requirements.

High and consistent levels of accuracy

Continuous validation using Mititoyo™ metrology gauge blocks

One-button scanning

Just place the cast(s) in the scanner - no precise positioning is necessary. Click on one button in the scanning software: 3Shape's unique 3-axis scanning technology ensures a complete coverage of the whole geometry of the cast, including potential undercuts.

Alignment of scanned parts

Using 3Shape's unique algorithms, the scanner aligns the upper and lower model either based on cutting planes or using an additional alignment scan with the plaster models placed in occlusion.

Automatic 3D model creation from scanned data

The scanning software automatically creates a fully surfaced 3D model from the acquired point cloud data. This data processing can take place on a separate PC, which frees up capacity to maximise scanning volume.
